Tim Van Steendam (°1979) started his career as a ghostwriter for Belgian politicians, sportsmen and others. Around 2008 he started working as a freelance journalist, publishing articles in outlets De Morgen, De Standaard, Knack, Mo* and Humo. In 2010 he released the well-recieved non-fiction work ‘Door het oog van de naald’, about his haunting 12 month journey in the world of homeless people and heroin addicts in his hometown Ghent. As an investigative journalist he worked in Libya, central Africa and eastern Congo.
